    Economy News - Baghdad
The Executive Director of the Iraq Fund for Development, Muhammad Al-Najjar, revealed the adoption of new investment methods in implementing school projects, in light of the increasing need to implement these projects.
A technical workshop brought together the Iraq Fund for Development and a number of private engineering consulting offices and other local equipment companies representing the private sector discussed the reality of implementing school projects in all regions of Iraq using advanced and environmentally friendly methods, with the aim of laying the foundations for creating qualified human resources.
Al-Najjar said that Iraq's need for schools is increasing with the expansion of population growth in Iraq, as the current deficit is estimated at 8,000 schools, which requires the development of new mechanisms and methods commensurate with the size of the need for schools, which is estimated in the thousands throughout all regions of Iraq.
Al-Najjar pointed out the adoption of new investment methods in implementing school projects in a way that suits Iraq’s capabilities and provides performance levels that can advance the academic level of students in all educational levels, and serve the development of human resources in the country.
The head of the Osool Organization for Economic Development and Sustainable Development, Khaled Al-Jabri, said that Iraq suffers from a severe shortage of schools in most regions of the country, which called for studying this issue in all its aspects with the aim of coming up with realistic solutions that can be adopted and working to address the problems of this sector. Al-Jabri pointed out that the discussion that took place within the workshop focused on the necessity of implementing environmentally friendly, highly sustainable, green schools with low energy consumption, indicating that traditional schools need high operating requirements.
He pointed out that future schools must have acceptable, even good, services that attract students with the services they provide, unlike traditional schools, pointing to the unanimous agreement of attendees to implement this type of school.
He stated that specialized studies indicated that the majority of female students drop out due to poor services provided within these schools, which leads us to address this matter radically by implementing advanced, environmentally friendly schools.
He stressed that qualifying and creating human resources with international expertise capable of mastering advanced technology begins with schools, which are the most important point in providing the foundations for building Iraqi human capabilities with high efficiency.
Al-Jabri explained that cooperation with the Iraq Fund for Development brings something new that changes performance paths, due to the seriousness of implementing the projects that it addresses, which will be the nucleus of larger projects that are an attractive element for the local and international effort to work inside Iraq, in a way that achieves real benefit for the country.
He explained that the projects of the Iraq Fund for Development have three important returns: social, equitable and profitable. The Fund will also work to activate the role of consulting offices after giving them an important space to work, so that they will be effective and have a positive impact on the urban movement in the country through the advanced and scientific performance they provide mixed with the legacy of civilization. Iraqi, as it will give the reality of implementing projects new advantages and reflect the extent of the sobriety of the local effort from design and implementation to completion, in accordance with specifications and within acceptable time periods.
