    Baghdad today - Sulaymaniyah
Former deputy in the Finance Committee, Ahmed Haj Rashid, said today, Sunday (December 31, 2023), that there is no financial scarcity in the Kurdistan region, but rather there is a crisis created by the regional government.
Rashid told "Baghdad Today" that "the ruling parties in the region are today selling oil for internal consumption as well as through smuggling through trucks to Turkey."
He added, "The Kurdistan Regional Government does not want to find solutions to the current economic crisis, because of its desire to continue the concessions and thefts. Otherwise, it can give the proceeds to the federal government, and the latter will be obligated to send and disburse employee salaries via MasterCard and from Baghdad on a monthly and regular basis."
Rashid pointed out, "The Kurdistan region faces another difficult financial year, if the regional government does not reach a quick agreement with Baghdad, according to which the crisis of Kurdistan's share of the budget will be resolved."
Parties in the parties opposing Erbil accuse the regional government of smuggling 200,000 barrels per day via tankers to Turkey, but this information may conflict with the reality of what is being produced in Kurdistan at the present time, which is only approximately 250,000 barrels per day, according to data from the “Apicor Group,” which includes operating companies. In Kurdistan, it also conflicts with information indicating that Baghdad receives 100,000 barrels per day from Kurdistan, and the rest goes to refineries for internal consumption.
