Today, Tuesday (January 2, 2024), the National Investment Authority held a meeting to discuss the proposed amendments to the Investment Law to strengthen the economic sector in Iraq.
The Commission stated in a statement received by “Baghdad Today” that “The Chairman of the National Investment Commission, Haider Muhammad Makiya, chaired a meeting to discuss the proposed amendments to the amended Investment Law No. (13) of 2006 with the aim of strengthening the economic sector in Iraq.”
She added, "Makiya discussed in the meeting, in the presence of the general directors and advisors, a set of proposals that provide the appropriate legislative environment for developing the reality of investment and strategic projects in Baghdad and the provinces."
She continued, "The meeting discussed the merits of the amendments and vital articles in the law, which it is hoped will give the National Authority and the investment sector a broader strategic dimension at the administrative, technical, and financial levels."
They pointed out that "the meeting concluded by setting a time limit for resolving the amendments in their final form, and proceeding with the necessary legal procedures regarding them."
