The Ministry of Construction, Housing and Public Municipalities is close to completing investment licenses for five residential cities in Baghdad and the governorates in preparation for their implementation.
The ministry’s official spokesman, Istabraq Sabah, told “Al-Sabah”: There are 15 new cities in Baghdad and the governorates that the ministry seeks to complete the requirements for their completion, as five of them were referred to companies for implementation, which are Ali Al-Wardi in Al-Nahrawan and Al-Jawahiri in Abu Ghraib in Baghdad, in addition to the city of the banks of Karbala, as well as The city of Al-Ghazlani in Mosul and the Hanging Gardens in Babylon.
He pointed out that the foundation stone for these cities will be laid once their investment licenses are completed by the ministry, while the rest are still in the process of studying the offers submitted by the companies in order to choose the best, as it is hoped that all of them will be transferred before the middle of the current year after completing the transfer procedures. Land ownership, sectoral approvals, and design approval.
Sabah stated that the Ministry is currently working on preparing the roads for these cities, with roads that will serve them within the projects to be implemented, whether the metro project or the ring road that will be launched soon, pointing out that one of the priorities for establishing these cities is to deliver basic services to them, such as water, electricity, and sewage. And communications.
