Iraqi Workers' Communist Party: Organizing workers is their own business

Organizing workers is their own business.
Let us join our efforts to thwart the passage of the anti-labor draft law on labor regulation in Parliament
Once again, the ruling bourgeois forces in Iraq are trying to deal a new blow to the workers in accordance with the policies of global imperialist institutions such as the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank, which stipulate that Iraq will be transformed into an investment farm for slaves in which there is no place for any objection or protest.
The parliamentary committee concerned with matters is trying to present a draft of a law that would permit government intervention in all forms of workers’ organization, from the establishment of unions to the establishment of various labor organizations. The goal of this committee behind this policy is only to facilitate the free movement of capital of local and international companies without facing any objection or protest from the public. Before the workers demand their rights.
The right to organize workers is what terrifies the government, its parliament, and its institutions, because it is the weapon that takes away workers’ rights by capitalist companies. Therefore, these forces try, by enacting laws that are hostile to workers, to encourage companies to invest their money to generate wide profits, by imposing working conditions that achieve the profits of those companies. Such as low wages, lack of social and health security, and arbitrary expulsion, and this cannot be achieved without depriving workers of their right to organize.
Beyond that, the Iraqi parliament, which lacks legitimacy, is trying to enact laws that contradict even the covenants that Iraqi governments signed with the International Labor Organization, which stipulate and confirm the right of workers to form their independent organizations, without returning or obtaining the approval of Parliament or the government.
The Iraqi Worker Communist Party calls on all local and international liberation forces to stand with the Iraqi labor organizations and unions that rejected what the parliamentary committee reached.
Any progress of the labor movement anywhere, or the achievement of the just demands of the workers, is progress in the struggle of the masses for well-being and a decent life.
Long live the independent organization of workers,
the Iraqi Worker Communist Party,
