The Minister of Housing and Construction, Bankin Rikani, on Wednesday attributed the reason for resorting to foreign investors instead of Iraqis, indicating that the Iraqi investor is working to obtain a large and quick profit without providing any service.
Rikani said in a statement to Mawazine News, “Investors obtained distinct plots in the heart of Baghdad, and the ‘Abaya interior’ may be without the conditions.”
He added, "All investment projects were established in the heart of Baghdad and have completed the green areas and streets in the capital," noting that "Iraqi investors profit at least a billion dollars from the cheapest residential project in Baghdad."
He pointed out that "the Iraqi investor is accustomed to the 'fast track' and wants lands in the heart of Baghdad," revealing that "the investor at Muthanna Airport caused an economic catastrophe to the government after leaving behind waste and removing it costs 26 billion dinars."
