    Information / Baghdad,
Deputy Chairman of the Parliamentary Economy and Investment Committee, Yasser Al-Husseini, today, Sunday, accused the director of Iraqi ports of wasting 20 trillion dinars, while calling on the regulatory and judicial authorities to follow up on the port file and the waste of money.
Al-Husseini said in a statement received by Al-Maalouma, that “the Director General of Iraqi Ports violated public funds, the contractual system, and existing systems, and that the Director violated all laws and caused the waste of approximately 20 trillion Iraqi dinars.”
He added, "The money that was wasted is sufficient to cover many needs and contribute to eliminating unemployment and poverty in Iraq," noting that "20 trillion Iraqi dinars is a huge amount, and the regulatory and judicial authorities must follow up on the issue of wasting money in Iraqi ports."
Al-Husseini continued, “We, in turn, mentioned the issue of wasting money in Iraqi ports in an official statement inside the House of Representatives, specifically in the session that was devoted to strengthening the oversight role of the Council, but these votes were wasted and the statement was completely absent, and no significant role was seen for it, and I hold the presidency of the House of Representatives and the authorities.” The supervisory and judicial authorities did not pay attention to and follow up on the statement.”
Representative Yasser Al-Husseini stated, “If the statement that was mentioned in the House of Representatives regarding the waste of funds in Iraqi ports had contained an insult to a political figure or other figures, lawsuits would have pursued me everywhere, but unfortunately the statement was not dealt with in the desired manner.” End 25
