The Parliamentary Energy Committee confirmed today, Saturday, that the current summer will witness an improvement in the electricity sector after the continued import of gas from the Iranian side.
Committee member Dakhel Radi said in a press interview, “The summer of 2024 will witness a significant improvement in the electricity situation, and he indicated that there is a real effort by the government and the Ministry of Electricity to introduce new transmission and distribution lines for service.”
He added, "The goal of extending the agreement to supply gas from Iran is to ensure its continued flow at peak summer loads."
He pointed out that “there are contracts to invest associated gas in generation and others to increase the system’s capabilities.”
