{Economic: Al-Furat News} Zainab Jumaa Al-Moussawi, a member of the Parliamentary Oil and Gas Committee, revealed today, Saturday, details of the cessation of electronic payment devices at fuel filling stations in Iraq, pointing out that the purpose of them is to return to cash dealing.
Al-Moussawi told {Al-Furat News} agency: “According to the information that we inquired about, the cessation of electronic payment devices at fuel filling stations in Iraq is due to the cessation of some electronic payment services due to a defect in the communication of one of the processing companies, as the defect affected the communication network of one of the electronic payment companies, which led to the cessation of Its services last for only 35 minutes.

She added, "It is a technical glitch, not a hacking or sabotage glitch, and it occurs in all countries of the world and was resolved at the time, but the yellow press and media biased toward government progress in the field of digital banking promoted such a glitch."

She explained, “The negative side of the imbalance is to destroy the national economy, and its goal is to restore cash dealing in order to achieve high profits, since fuel supply is through small numbers in dinars.”

She pointed out that "if the cost of filling a car with cash is 10,100 dinars, the citizen will have to pay 10,250 dinars, that is, 150 dinars will go into the pockets of the corrupt people who stand against electronic dealing. However, if the payment is by electronic card, the deductions will be the same as what appeared in The fuel device is 10 thousand and 100 dinars from the card balance.”

Citizens and local sources reported that POS electronic payment machines suddenly stopped at Al-Mansour, Al-Saydiyah, Al-Karada and a number of other government stations in Baghdad.

Citizens confirmed that electronic payment operations have not stabilized since their launch at gas stations, and halts continue from time to time, whether due to deteriorating service or active action inside the stations.
