    [size=45]The Prime Minister, Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani, announced yesterday, Wednesday, that Iraq had achieved “for the first time” self-sufficiency in fertilizer, while setting the price for receiving one ton of wheat at (850) thousand dinars.[/size]
    [size=45]The Prime Minister’s Media Office stated in a statement received by Al-Mada that “Al-Sudani supervised the launch of the marketing season for the wheat crop in Iraq, during his visit to Silo, Anbar Governorate.” According to the statement, Al-Sudani supervised “the process of receiving the wheat crop from the peasants and growers of the governorate, and also handed over the financial dues to a group of farmers marketing their crops in the form of bonds, in clear confirmation of the speedy completion of the delivery of the financial dues to the peasants and farmers who will market their crops of wheat, barley, and corn.”[/size]
    [size=45]Al-Sudani expressed his “pride in being in Anbar Governorate, and congratulated the efforts of farmers and all those working in the Ministries of Agriculture, Water Resources and Trade, in making the agricultural and marketing season a success,” stressing that “the role of the Iraqi farmer in achieving food security is no less important than the role of the military in achieving security and stability.” In the country".[/size]
    [size=45]He stressed that “the Council of Ministers set the price of receiving one ton of wheat at (850) thousand dinars, and there will be a preferential price in the next season for lands cultivated with modern irrigation systems.”[/size]
    [size=45]Al-Sudani was briefed on “the details related to facilitating the receipt of the wheat crop,” and directed some procedures that would “prepare all quick ways to receive the crop and disburse the funds.”[/size]
    [size=45]He announced, “Contracting for (12) thousand modern irrigation systems that will reach the country, through various contracts and financing, as these systems will be available to farmers at a subsidized price of up to 30%.”[/size]
    [size=45]He pointed out that “we have placed supporting agriculture among the priorities, starting with the implementation of agricultural plans. We directed the adoption of modern methods of irrigation to confront water scarcity and achieve the highest yield per dunum, which achieves economic feasibility for the farmer and meets our need for this strategic crop,” indicating that “we were able to provide Locally produced fertilizers, after the opening of the urea fertilizer production line and the Dab fertilizer production line in Basra.”[/size]
    [size=45]The Prime Minister stressed that “for the first time, Iraq has achieved self-sufficiency in fertilizer for the agricultural plan,” adding, “We directed the amount that was allocated to import fertilizers to purchase modern irrigation systems, and we relied on agriculture as a strategic option to activate the economic sector.”[/size]
    [size=45]He pointed out that “the strategic framework agreement with Turkey represents a qualitative leap in terms of radical solutions to the water problem,” noting, “according to the water framework agreement with Turkey, we will move towards establishing dam projects, lining rivers, and using pipes.” To reduce waste, to establish wastewater treatment plants and use them in agriculture.”[/size]
    [size=45]Al-Sudani explained that “the government is serious about improving the agricultural situation, which represents a profession for about 75 percent of the population of Iraq,” noting that “we have transferred financial allocations to the Ministry of Commerce, and the government is committed to disbursing farmers’ dues once their crops are delivered to the marketing centers of the Ministry of Commerce.”[/size]
    [size=45]He continued, “Today we witnessed the peasants and farmers receiving the receipts for the amounts related to their crops, as part of our commitment and support to the peasants,” recommending that “the peasants and farmers not to hand over their crops to commercial offices, and the Ministry of Commerce is committed to speeding up the disbursement, which we will ensure is carried out in the correct manner. K, and we directed all workers to be on alert and work throughout 24 hours, and there will be no delay in disbursing dues.”[/size]
