    Baghdad today - Diyala
    Today, Wednesday (January 10, 2024), the Diyala Investment Department revealed the achievement of an exceptional number in the value of investments during the year 2023, the largest after 2003.
    The department’s media director, Ahmed Hassan, told “Baghdad Today” that “security stability has opened the door wide for the flow of investments in various sectors during 2023, as 20 investment licenses were granted, 11 of which were in the housing sector alone, while the rest included 8 other sectors, including tourism and agriculture.” ".
    He added, "The value of investments reaches $547 million, which is an exceptional number that occurs for the first time after 2003," pointing out that "his department has contributed, through flexibility of procedures and marketing of vacations, to attracting companies and capital owners in order to pump large sums of money into promising investments."
    Hassan pointed out that “housing’s acquisition of the lion’s share of vacation rentals reflects great activity and a real need for the growing demand for new units that are implemented according to a prestigious range of services,” expecting that “2024 will witness a similar experience in attracting investments and an increase in demand rates not for Iraqis, but for Arabs and foreigners.” .
    The investment sector in Iraq is witnessing slow growth, due to the bureaucracy and routine procedures that many investors complain about, in addition to security, according to observers.
