Today, Saturday, a member of the State of Law coalition, Ahmed Salal Al-Ati, revealed the reason for postponing the vote on the new Speaker of Parliament, while setting the date for the decision.

Al-Ati said in an interview with Al-Sumaria, “The members of Parliament demanded resolving the issue of the presidency of the House of Representatives and electing a new president because it has become obstructive to the work of the House and the procedures must be completed,” noting that “there was an intervention from the representatives and signatures were collected in this regard and the paragraph was included, but it was postponed due to the lack of a quorum.” ".

He added, "The demands to include the paragraph in today's session came to resolve the controversy and allow the Council to perform its legislative role," stressing that "the paragraph for voting on the new president will be at the forefront of the next session."

Salal explained, “The inclusion of the clause to elect the Speaker of Parliament did not come to obstruct or delay the vote on the anti-prostitution law,” while he did not rule out the presence of those who want to obstruct this law, especially after it was removed from the agenda in more than one session previously.
