    It recommended the US Embassy in Baghdad, on Monday, to empty Mosul dam water in order to protect about a million and a half people from danger in the event of exposure to the collapse.

    "We would like to emphasize that the dump (the water) is the most effective way to save the lives of hundreds of thousands of Iraqis living in the most dangerous areas on the flood path in the event of a cracked it."

    According to the embassy's point of view, it would not be possible, in the event of a disruption, saving between 500 thousand to 1.47 million people live along the Tigris River, if they are not moved from their places.

    The statement also stressed the need to move away residents of the cities of Mosul and Tikrit, between five to six kilometers from the river bank to be safely. Those who live in areas near Samarra, where they can control the flood wave through smaller dam and the possible arrival of water to a wider area, they will have to stay away about 16 kilometers, according to the statement.

    In the same context, the emergency plan refers to the flooding of areas in Baghdad, including the international airport.
