Parliamentary Agriculture: The agreement with Türkiye will regulate the file of “shared rivers”

The Agriculture, Water and Marshlands Committee in the House of Representatives described the agreement concluded between Iraq and Turkey as a “good and successful” step, stressing Iraq’s need to build new dams to conserve water during the rainy season.
The first deputy head of the committee, Zuzan Kocher, told Al-Sabah that “the agreement between the two countries was a good and successful step, after it was preceded by confirmations of the existence of joint cooperation between the two countries to address the problems in the water file,” adding that “the agreement included the exchange of expertise and agreement to use modern technologies in irrigation and agriculture and joint projects to manage and improve water and modern technologies in irrigation projects.”
Koger pointed out that "what is important in these agreements is to determine Iraq's share in a fair and sufficient manner to meet its water needs.
