    [size=45]The Parliamentary Integrity Committee discussed, during an expanded meeting held at the headquarters of the Federal Integrity Commission, a number of essential issues related to combating corruption and recovering smuggled funds.[/size]

    [size=45]The meeting discussed in detail the proposed amendments to the Law on the Recovery of Corruption Proceeds, which is considered one of the important legal tools to enhance the efforts of the Integrity Commission in prosecuting those accused of wasting public money inside and outside Iraq.[/size]
    [size=45]Member of the Parliamentary Integrity Committee, Hamid Al-Shiblawi, stressed that the law is considered a vital tool to enable the Commission to cooperate with the Public Prosecution Service to achieve justice, whether with major or minor corrupt individuals.[/size]
    [size=45]He pointed out that the committee is working in coordination with the authority to submit joint comments and proposals to mature the law in line with current requirements.[/size]
    [size=45]Support for provincial offices and human resources[/size]
    [size=45]The meeting discussed the importance of developing the work of the Integrity Commission offices in the governorates, in a way that ensures enhancing their performance in combating corruption at the local level.[/size]
    [size=45]He also stressed the need to provide the necessary support to these offices in terms of human and technical capabilities.
    In the same context, the meeting focused on the importance of improving the Authority’s human resources by relying on qualitative competencies, instead of focusing on large numbers, with the aim of raising work efficiency and achieving goals with a high level of responsibility.[/size]

    [size=45]The two parties discussed the mechanisms for receiving reports and complaints related to corruption cases, stressing the need to deal with them accurately and transparently to avoid exploiting them to achieve personal goals.[/size]
    [size=45]It was agreed to put in place strict procedures to distinguish serious from malicious reports, to ensure that work proceeds with the highest degree of integrity.[/size]
    [size=45]Strengthening cooperation between the Committee and the Authority[/size]
    [size=45]The meeting stressed the importance of enhancing coordination between the Parliamentary Integrity Committee and the Federal Integrity Commission to develop joint work strategies, which would contribute to achieving the goals of combating corruption and recovering public funds.[/size]
    [size=45]It was emphasized that communication between the two parties would continue to exchange information and expertise and support joint efforts.[/size]

    [size=45]The meeting stressed the need to promote the values ​​of integrity and commitment to them by all segments of society, as a fundamental pillar for building trust between citizens and government institutions, and for achieving an environment free of corruption.[/size]
