    The Ministry of Planning, on Monday, that the number of divorcees and widows in the whole of Iraq amounted to about two million divorced and widow, according to the results of the food security survey , which was carried out by the Central Bureau of Statistics ( NBS ) through 2016 


    , said Abdul - Zahra al - Hindawi, spokesman for the Ministry of Planning, in a statement received (range Press) copy of it, " the number of divorced reached 122 thousand and 438 absolute, of whom 105 absolute thousand ages of 14 ranging to 49 years, while the number of divorced women aged 50 years and above about 17,000 and an absolute 432 , " noting that " the number of widows reached 878 thousand and 455 thousand 203 of them widow widow aged 14 to 49 years old and there are 675 thousand and 198 widow aged 50 years and older. " 
    He Hindawi that "food security survey of 2016 did not include the provinces of Nineveh and Anbar, as well as Hawija spend in the province of Kirkuk and judicial Peggy Shirqat in Salahuddin province because of security where the circumstances , " pointing out that "indicators of widows and divorcees did not include data on the governorates and districts mentioned." 
    He said a spokesman for the planning that "all UN organizations based data and indicators produced by the Central Bureau of Statistics because the statistical surveys carried out by the device is carried out in accordance with international standards adopted by the United Nations." 
    It revealed the Ministry of Planning for the high rate of poverty in the country to 30% over the past year in 2016, after it posted a 22% in the last survey in 2014, as revealed its intention to conduct a new survey during the first quarter of this year. 
    Hindawi said that " it is estimated that the poverty rate in Iraq has risen to 30% over the past year in 2016 after it was 22% in the last survey conducted by the Ministry of Planning in 2014 , " noting that " the ministry will conduct a new survey of the poverty levels in the first quarter of the year current 2017 in order to give accurate proportion. " 
    A spokesman for the Planning, adding that " the poverty rate in Iraq has reached 13% in 2013 , but it rose to 22% during the year 2014 after the occupation of the organization (Daesh) for a number of provinces, in addition to the drop in oil prices and the global markets , which has exacerbated poverty in Iraq." 
    The Ministry of Planning in the announced (14 May 2013), for the decline in poverty rates in Iraq during the past years, as suggested that the poverty level in Iraq up to about 18%. 
    And recognized the Ministry of Planning in the (12 May 2013), the failure of the five - year plan drawn up in 2010 for the years (2010-2014), which aims to reduce the disparities between urban and rural areas, and increase the gross domestic product, while confirming that Iraq is still far from the border drawn by the United nations. 
    It is noteworthy that the Ministry of Planning, announced (June 2011), that the rate of poverty in Iraq amounted to about 23%, which means that a quarter of Iraq 's population living below the poverty line, including nearly 5% living in the level of extreme poverty, while it indicated on the third of June 2012, that the statistics confirmed that the unemployment rate in the Iraqi society amounted to 16 percent. 
    Iraq has suffered a big unemployment both among young people who are unable category for work and among university graduates, it is believed many economists that the statistical estimates for these young people do not necessarily reflect reality already present, as the country suffers, a severe crisis in the housing due to the increasing number of population relative to the number of residential complexes, in addition to the inability of citizens with limited income from the construction of its own housing units, because of the high cost of land and construction materials, while experiencing a lot of neighborhoods and areas of the capital Baghdad, according to observers and specialists affairs service, deterioration evident in poor services to the urban and the health and service level, while the allocation of financial budgets great for those purposes.
