    The sources said five US-led coalition aircraft provided air cover for the troops over the town of Al-Tabla, the lake and the landing area.
    On Wednesday, March 22, 2017, the Syrian Democratic Forces announced that the international coalition had airlifted US forces and Kurdish fighters in areas of the province of Raqqa to expand its military operations to restore the province from the hands of Dahesh.
    For its part, the coalition said in a statement published on the Internet today, "The operation aims to control the strategic class area on the bank of the Euphrates River corresponding to areas controlled by Syria's democratic forces and to limit the progress of Syrian government forces in this direction."
    "The units launched a major campaign this year to transform themselves into a more organized force until they become a regular army," spokesman for the Kurdish People's Protection Forces, Redor Khalil, said on Monday.
    "By the end of 2016, the units had 60,000 fighters, including women's protection units, and the units have already formed 10 new battalions since the beginning of this year, each with about 300 fighters," he said.
    The Kurdish People's Protection Units play a crucial role in the US-backed campaign to organize a preacher in Syria and is considered the backbone of Syria's democratic forces, which are fighting alongside the international coalition forces now to control the city of Raqqa from the hands of a sympathetic organization.
