    German police announced Sunday (30 July) that two people were killed and four others were wounded in a shooting at a nightclub in the city of Konstanz, Baden-Wuerttemberg.
    Police said one person died after shots were fired at the club and the culprit died in a shootout with police.
    According to German police sources, the 34-year-old attacker was an Iraqi citizen, but not an asylum seeker, excluding the hypothesis of a terrorist act in the attack on the nightclub.
    There was no immediate information on the motives of the attacker, who had shot a policeman in the exchange.
    Police say they have deployed a special forces squad in the city of Constance, in anticipation of the possibility that the incident may be part of a larger operation.

    Iraqi behind an armed attack targeted a clubhouse in Germany

    Five people were killed and five wounded, including a policeman, in an armed attack carried out by an armed man with Iraqi nationality at dawn on Sunday at a nightclub in the German city of Constance. The attacker died of his wounds during an exchange of fire with the security forces.
    "A 34-year-old man opened fire in a nightclub in the southwestern city of Constance early on Sunday, killing one person, seriously wounding three others and injuring another policeman outside the club," police said.
    "The suspect was seriously injured during an exchange of fire outside the club with policemen who rushed to the scene shortly after the incident at 4:30 am Germany and was taken to hospital, where he died later from his wounds," the German police said.
