Former Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is facing charges of misuse of billions of dollars in government funds, according to Iran's Supreme Court of Justice chief prosecutor Fayyad Shoja'i.
In an interview with the Iranian newspaper Etemad, he said that in one case due to Ahmadinejad's second term, between 2009 and 2013, the misappropriated funds amounted to more than $ 2 billion.
