    A document issued by the Foreign Ministry revealed that a request by Barzan al-Tikriti, a half-brother of former president Saddam Hussein, has been submitted to the Libyan Arab Jamahiriya to lift the freeze on financial assets and to ban travel from the al-Tikriti family.

    She explained that "the lawyer was based on what he says about the termination of the justification for including these sanctions after 13 years and the freezing of their assets in Switzerland in their bank accounts referred to in the petition, without the confiscation of the Swiss authorities."
