A document issued by the Rasheed Bank / Wasit branch, obtained by Mawazin News, revealed a decision by the Ministry of Finance to withdraw the assets of the Zerbatiyah port from the governorate council and transfer it to the ministry.
"Reference to the Ministry of Finance / Office of the Inspector General / Legal Affairs and Investigations No. 7924 dated July 23, 2017. Please withdraw the balances from the numbered accounts (368) open at Wasit branch in the name of Wasit Governorate Council and (10038) Al-Wafa'a branch in the name of the Maysan Governorate Council and transfer it to the Ministry of Finance account / Accounting Department No. (53082) open with our main branch as soon as possible with copies of conversion notices. "
This amounted to revenues of the border area last year more than 9 billion dinars, while allocated the Council of Wasit province, some of them to cover some of the requirements of medicines and treatment of the wounded crowd and the treatment of patients outside and inside Iraq.
