    The Committee on Transport and Border Ports held a meeting to discuss the developments of the development of Arar border port with Saudi Arabia. 

    The Minister of Transport said in a statement that "the Minister of Transport presided over the second meeting of the Committee of Transport, Border Ports and Ports in the presence of the Head of the Border Crossings Authority, Mr. Kazem Mohammed Prism, the Senior Undersecretary of the Ministry of Construction, Housing and Municipalities Esterbak Ibrahim and Secretary General of the National Security Service Hamid Rashid, General of the Iraqi Railways Salam Jabr and the General Manager of the General Company for Land Transport Emad Al-Asadi and Assistant Director General of the General Company of the ports of Iraq Salem Jabbar. 

    The ministry added that "during the meeting there was extensive discussion of the arrival of the decisions and procedures for the work of the Committee."

    According to the statement, the minister pointed to "the importance of providing the committee by the head of the border crossings authority a detailed report on the developments of the development of Arar border port, based on the memorandum of understanding signed between the Republic of Iraq and Saudi Arabia." 

    Al-Hamami added that "the committee agreed to meet the invitation of the Saudi side to the Chairman and members of the Committee on Transport and Border Ports and Ports to visit the Kingdom in order to discuss several issues related to the development of the working reality between the two sides, most important is the signing of the air transport agreement between the Government of Iraq and the Government of Saudi Arabia, Iraq to the Riyadh Convention for inspection and control of vessels that are still under implementation. "

    Al-Hamami pointed out that "all the paragraphs of the report will be presented with the Saudi side, which were mentioned in the minutes of the first meeting of the Committee and the adoption of the necessary decisions, including the extension of a railway between the two sides, activating the fields of land and sea transport between the two sides, Iraqi. "
