Washington imposes sanctions on 7 Iranians and two entities in Tehran

The United States has announced new sanctions against Iran over its ballistic missile program and its support for terrorist organizations.
The State Department said the new measures would involve 18 Iranian personalities and institutions. She adds that all those involved are involved in supporting the ballistic missile program or working within the IRGC.
The US State Department also criticized Iran for supporting the Syrian government and groups such as Hezbollah and Hamas.
"The United States remains deeply concerned about Iran's harmful activities throughout the Middle East, which undermine regional stability, security and prosperity" in the region.
The statement stressed that "Iran continues to support terrorist groups such as: Hezbollah, Hamas and Islamic Jihad that threaten Israel and stability in the Middle East, and has maintained constant support for the Assad regime (in Syria) despite the atrocities committed against his people."
It also accused Iran of feeding and prolonging the conflict in Yemen by providing support to the Huthi rebels. Iran has so far not commented on the new US measures.
