Venezuelan crude oil sales to the United States fell in September to a 14-year low, according to Thomson Reuters data, with ports closed on the US Gulf Coast due to hurricane Harvey as well as US sanctions.
Venezuela's oil output this year fell to its lowest level in nearly three decades, hurting exports to its main customers.
Shipments to the United States have also been hit by US sanctions on Venezuela's state-owned oil company.
According to Thomson Reuters data, the United States received 30 shipments of Venezuelan crude in September, down from 38 in the previous month.
Sales fell to 488,165 barrels per day, down 24 percent from August and down 38 percent from the same month in 2016. C
