China's economy sees "slow growth"

China's National Statistics Office (CNS) on Thursday reported slow growth in the country's economy in the third quarter of this year.
"Gross Domestic Product (GDP) rose 6.8 percent year-on-year in the three-month period ending September, from 6.9 percent in the previous quarter," the agency said.
By 7:25 am GMT, the yuan was steady against the dollar at 6.6283 yuan.
China's economy grew by analysts' forecasts that the world's second-largest economy would grow by 6.8 percent.
The Chinese government aims to achieve an annual growth rate of 6.5 percent this year, while the World Bank expects China to achieve economic growth of 6.7 percent this year and 6.4 percent in 2018. 25
