Maliki urges US companies to support reconstruction of Iraq
01/2/2018 12:00 am [rtl]BAGHDAD / Al-Sabah Vice President Nuri al-Maliki urged US companies to contribute to the reconstruction of Iraq and to participate actively in the Kuwait conference. A statement by the Information Office of the Vice President said that al-Maliki discussed with US Ambassador to Iraq Douglas Silliaman the course of bilateral relations between the two countries, indicating that the two sides are preparing for the ongoing preparations for the Iraq reconstruction conference to be held in Kuwait soon and holding the elections on schedule. Maliki renewed the call to the countries participating in the conference to support Iraq in the areas of investment and reconstruction through payment of time and not through grants, hoping that the US companies to contribute to the reconstruction of Iraq. For his part, the US ambassador said that his country will strongly support the Kuwait conference, stressing that the United States also supports the efforts of Iraq to hold parliamentary elections on time and success.
