[ltr]MOSCOW - There are about 20 US military bases in Kurdish-controlled areas in Syria, the deputy secretary of the UN Security Council, Alexander Venediktov, has announced.[/ltr]
[ltr]"The return of stability and peace to Syria is hampered by continued external interference in the Syrian crisis," he said in a press statement.[/ltr]
[ltr]On the United States' security zone in Al-Tanf, Syria, he said, "The gunmen are moving freely before the eyes of the US military in the Al-Tanf area of Syria. The area is closed to UN aid convoys."[/ltr]
[ltr]"The situation is also puzzling when the United States, without agreement with the Syrian government, practically occupies an area along 55 kilometers around the border on the Syrian-Jordanian border," Venydetkov said.[/ltr]
[ltr]At the same time, for United Nations humanitarian convoys attempting to enter the Rikban camp from Syrian territory, the area remained closed.[/ltr]
