Iran's parliament speaker for international affairs, Hussein Amir Abdullahian, said on Saturday that the United States could take any military action against his country, noting that the current circumstances did not help them.
"If the United States were capable of attacking Iran in the past four decades, it would not have been a moment," he said in a newspaper interview, claiming that "Washington is incapable of directing any military strike against Iran."
"The replacement of Rex Tilerson will be accompanied by new, tougher US policies," Abdullahian said.
"The current circumstances do not help the Americans to take a military decision against Iran, and the Iranian defense structure and the lack of awareness of the size of America and the nature of responses to abuses during the previous years, and in Washington in practice, will make America to calculate the step well.
