    Reporters Without Borders said that Iraq is living a media war in the sense of the situation in the country, noting that Iraqi journalists find themselves stuck in the cycle of conflict between the various parties.
    "The countries of the Middle East are at the back of the World Press Freedom Index," the organization said in its 2018 annual ranking. "Between the never ending armed conflicts and the repeated accusations of terrorism against independent journalists and the free media, Ways of monitoring and tightening Internet censorship, the work of journalists is still very risky in the region. "
    "Journalists are living in a similar situation in Iraq, where they find themselves caught up in the cycle of conflict between the various parties.
    "While many media outlets have been forced to close their offices and stop broadcasting or publishing their publications, there have been a number of violent attacks against journalists, some of whom are responsible for the abuses, to a number of politicians and armed groups involved in corruption cases."
