Oil prices rose after the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) announced that the supply of crude had almost disappeared while the gap between US crude and Brent to more than seven dollars, the largest in five months.
"Brent crude from the global mix rose $ 1.11 in the settlement to $ 78.23 per barrel, while WTI increased 26 cents in the settlement to $ 70.96 a barrel," Sky News said in a news release.
"The difference between US crude and Brent crude was $ 7.28, the highest since Dec. 12, as the US production increased."
