Oil falls after Russian comments on increased production

Mubasher: Oil prices fell during Friday's trading, after Russian comments on a possible increase in oil production, and before the data of the activity of exploration for US crude.
The Russian Energy Minister said yesterday that restrictions on oil production can be slightly mitigated if the countries inside and outside the "OPEC" saw the oil market balance in June.
This week, sources familiar with the matter told Reuters that "OPEC" may decide next month to raise production to compensate for the shortage of supply.
US crude futures for July delivery fell 0.4% to $ 78.49 a barrel by 6:45 am GMT.
Nymex crude futures for July delivery fell 0.3% to $ 70.49 a barrel.
US production continues its record highs, with data from the Energy Information Administration this week that reached 10.725 million barrels per day during the week ending May 18, the highest level ever.
Later in the day, data from the US crude oil drilling platforms released by Baker Hughes will be announced later in the day.
