The organization said on its website: The [url=https://www.thebaghdadpost.com/ar/Story/t/5570/%D9%86%D8%B8%D8%A7%D9%85 %D8%A7%D9%84%D8%A3%D8%B3%D8%AF]Assad regime[/url] is subjecting tens of thousands of civilians, humanitarian workers and peaceful activists to enforced disappearance or [url=https://www.thebaghdadpost.com/ar/Story/t/44857/%D8%A7%D9%84%D8%A7%D8%B9%D8%AA%D9%82%D8%A7%D9%84 %D8%A7%D9%84%D8%AA%D8%B9%D8%B3%D9%81%D9%8A]arbitrary detention in[/url] order to spread fear among the civilians and collective punishment.
The organization confirmed the deaths of more than 15,000 people from torture in prisons, noting that many were tortured or other ill-treatment in prisons.
It also accused [url=https://www.thebaghdadpost.com/ar/Story/t/5570/%D9%86%D8%B8%D8%A7%D9%85 %D8%A7%D9%84%D8%A3%D8%B3%D8%AF]the Assad regime[/url] and the militias supporting it of violating international law. These practices are part of a widespread and organized campaign against the civilian population and urged Russia and the United States to exert pressure on the Syrian regime to reveal the fate and whereabouts of the disappeared.
In earlier reports, the Syrian Human Rights Network documented at least 95,000 people still under enforced disappearance from March 2011 to August 2018, including more than 81,000 people whose fate is still unknown in the security branches and Assad's prisons.
