[rtl]Lawyers for two committees in the US Congress are discussing the possibility of inviting translators who attended major meetings of Russia and the United States to testify, ABC News quoted sources as saying.[/rtl]

[rtl]The meeting of lawyers representing the intelligence and foreign affairs committees will be held in Congress on Monday.[/rtl]

[rtl]The Washington Post reported on Sunday that US President Donald Trump concealed details of his talks with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin, and as a result secret files in the United States did not include a single record of the talks held by the two presidents in five separate places in the past two years .[/rtl]

[rtl]According to the newspaper, the talk is in particular about the Trump interview with Putin in 2017 in Hamburg, and then took the US president translated records and asked not to discuss what was said with members of the administration.[/rtl]

[rtl]As a source from the Foreign Affairs Committee told ABC News, the issue "caused a number of new questions."[/rtl]

[rtl]"We are studying possible legal consequences (calling interpreters for dialogue) and discussing options," said a congressional officer.[/rtl]

[rtl]The channel noted that after the July meeting between Putin and Trump in Helsinki, Democrats tried the intelligence committee to call the American interpreter, but the idea did not find support from Republicans.[/rtl]

[rtl]Some US politicians believe such a move could create an undesirable precedent, as the future US administration will find it more difficult to negotiate with its foreign counterparts, the channel says.[/rtl]

[rtl]Earlier, it was reported that the US House of Representatives Committee on Foreign Affairs intended to hold hearings on the meetings of President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin.[/rtl]
