The General Company for Iraqi Ports, on Thursday, signed a contract with the company implementing projects of the Ministry of Transport to implement the project of the entrance and routes of ports Umm Qasr.
"The company has signed a contract with a project company to implement the projects of the Ministry of Transport to implement the project of the entrance and routes of ports Umm Qasr," the company's general manager, Safaa Abdul Hussein, said in a statement received by Mawazine News.
He added that this step came under the direction of Minister of Transport Abdullah Luaibi, stressing that "this project is one of the most important projects by which the development of the area is confined between the entrance to the city of Umm Qasr and the port of Umm Qasr South."
He pointed out that "this step came as the region is witnessing a great crowding and the movement of trucks loaded and empty and taking care of them is an effective treatment to facilitate the smooth flow of goods from the port and the mechanism."
