Prime Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi on Thursday called for an increase in Iraq's share of pilgrims, while Saudi Arabia promised to meet his demand.
Informed sources told Al-Ittihad News that "Prime Minister Adel Abdul-Mahdi called during his meeting with Saudi officials to increase Iraq's share of pilgrims to compensate him for not fulfilling his share for decades and to increase the population of Iraq significantly without modifying the share according to the proportion of the population of Iraq" .
The sources added that "the leadership of the Kingdom and the Ministry of Hajj Saudi Arabia promised to deal positively with the Iraqi demand," pointing out that "is expected to become Iraq's share according to the criteria above to fifty thousand pilgrims in the next season."
Prime Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi is visiting Saudi Arabia at the head of a high-level delegation.
