The Ministry of Communications announced on Monday the completion of the IGW project for the management of international land and sea access gates to control the country's Internet access.
"The IGW project for the international access gates, which will manage and operate the system of international access gates for the Internet, has been completed at the sea and land ports of the country," the senior agent for technical affairs in the ministry, Amir al-Bayati, said in an official statement.
"The project is vital because it will work to develop the reality of Internet services for citizens, especially that the ministry implemented according to advanced technologies and modern and closely followed those used globally in this area," noting that "the operation of the project will be by linking and operating the Internet capacity entering the country through land and sea ports, After completion of technical and organizational procedures for the operation of the project, which will improve the service and develop performance and control of internal capacities And to combat fraud that causes significant financial losses to public funds. "
"The IGW project has been in operation since last year to pass international capacities through the ISP's Internet service providers and work has been done to connect the capacities of the companies equipped for the Internet service according to a procedural schedule that was prepared in advance," he said, noting that "the project aims to provide service High quality and speed of citizens major cards to achieve national sovereignty over the international capacities entering the country. "
Al-Bayati said that "the companies equipped for Internet services coordinated with the General Company for Communications and Informatics to link their capacities through the International Gate Project, where the appropriate ground for the operation of the project was set up in terms of technical and logistical aspects to make it successful, And all relevant parties. "
