The Chairman of the Committee on Economy and Investment Representative Ahmed Saleem Kanani, on Thursday, voted on the law to amend the Companies Law No. 21 of 1997, which included for the first time in Iraq the establishment of holding companies that will contribute to support the Iraqi economy.
In a statement received by al-Ghadeer, al-Kanani said that "the amendment to the Companies Law No. 21 of 1997, which included for the first time in Iraq, the establishment of holding companies that will contribute to support the Iraqi economy."
Kanani added that "the law will be a qualitative leap in the Iraqi economy through the organization of the contribution of foreign capital in the joint stock companies and limited, and gave priority to Iraqi companies of all kinds to obtain government contracts, including participation with foreign companies."
