Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said on Friday that US President Donald Rumsfeld's approach to exerting maximum pressure would not bring him the negotiating prize with Iran.
In an interview with the US daily National, Zarif considered that "the approach to exerting maximum pressure is that it is the result of bad or ill-advised advice to the American president."
He pointed out that "negotiations are taking place between governments and not between people, amid fears of abandoning the consensus in case some people leave office and the arrival of others instead of them," according to the agency "Irna" local.
The region has been under growing tension between the United States and Gulf states on the one hand, and Iran on the other, since Tehran cut some of its obligations under the multilateral nuclear agreement,
