"It is a mistake to consider the Iraqi economy as a rentier economy, although the source of money is oil revenues," Kifai said in a speech at the conference (Iraqi Economy to Where) organized by the Association of Iraqi Academics in London.
He explained: "The reason is that it is not comparable to other rentier economies in the Gulf, for example, where wealth is distributed among citizens and does not find a citizen living below the poverty line as in Iraq."
