Committee formed to compensate farmers affected due to Kifal-Shanafiya irrigation project

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) -The Ministry of Water Resources had formed a committee to follow up the facilitating procedures of compensating transactions of farmers and citizens whose territories situated at the irrigation project (Shanafiya-Kifal) in order to pay their dues as soon as possible.The Ministry of Water Resources reported in statement received by IraqiNews.com that ”The Minister of Water Resources met a delegation from Najaf province chaired by, Hashim al-Karawi, the Head of the agriculture committee in Najaf Provincial Council.” The statement added ”The meeting included, discussing the details of implementing irrigation projects, particularly, Kifal-Shanafiya, project which is situated at the southern part of Euphrates River,” noting that “The Minister instructed to conduct a periodic evaluation for the accomplished works of the companies that implement the project.”
”The meeting resulted in instruction to form a committee to follow up the procedures of of of people’s compensation transactions and farmers whose lands situated within the area of the irrigation project in order to pay their compensations as soon as possible,” the statement pointed out. \
