The State of Law coalition led by Nuri al-Maliki on Saturday, February 29, 2020, renewed his previous position not to participate in the government of Prime Minister-designate Muhammad Tawfiq Allawi.
In a statement received by Kalima, the coalition said, "We have affirmed from the beginning our position, if the taxpayer abides by what he pledged to the Iraqis, we will support him with full force and if he fails to fulfill his obligations, we will apologize for his support."
The coalition stressed "the need to preserve the national constants, foremost of which is the formation of a government that meets the aspirations of the people and restores the prestige of the state and is committed to holding early elections."
