The commander of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard's air arm, Amir Ali Hajzadeh, said his forces are ready to attack "hundreds of American targets" if tension escalates into a wider conflict.
Zada said during a press interview after the Revolutionary Guards launched a military satellite, that the Revolutionary Guards forces were "ready for a wider attack if the United States responded to the bombing of Ein Al-Assad."
"We were ready to attack 400 American targets," Zadeh said, without giving further details about the way Iran plans to strike these targets, or their locations.
Tensions between the two countries escalated after a US drone strike in which the Revolutionary Guards General Qassem Soleimani and the Deputy Secretary-General of the Iraqi Popular Mobilization, Abu Mahdi Al-Muhandis, were killed in early January in response to a missile strike by Iranian-backed militias targeting an American base in Anbar.
Iran responded with missile strikes that targeted the Al-Asad base in Anbar with a number of ballistic missiles, without causing casualties among the American soldiers.
The White House chose not to respond after the strikes, although Trump had previously threatened to attack 52 Iranian targets.
During the rocket fire, the Revolutionary Guards shot down a Ukrainian civilian plane outside Tehran, and all of its 176 passengers were killed.
Tensions rose after Iranian Revolutionary Guard boats intercepted US warships in the Gulf, and the accident prompted Trump to order the navy to "destroy" any Iranian boats that harass American ships.
Then Revolutionary Guards commander Hussein Salami threatened to attack any American forces in the Gulf. Ended 29/43
