"The commission is committed to conducting the elections on October 10, 2021, and has set a schedule of operations and timings for each stage of the electoral process," the commission's spokeswoman, Jumana Al-Ghalai, told {Al-Furat News}.
She added, "There are preparations for the voting stage and we have negotiated with the General Company for Land Transport to transfer sensitive and non-sensitive materials for voting from ports and airports to the National Office of the Commission and the provincial offices," noting that "20 million voters received their electoral cards in the provincial offices."
She added, "16 million voters are registered biometrically, and the cards will be distributed to them, and there are 14 million cards printed and received," noting that "we have mobile teams to deliver the cards to voters in their areas and deliver them to their homes."
She added, "We have extended the biometric update to April 15 to complete the data and count the numbers of the displaced, as they are from the special vote, in addition to the young voters born in 2001-2002 and 2003 who numbered 2,600,000 and only 300,000 who came back and are ready to send mobile teams to them."
The House of Representatives voted in a session to approve the 2021 budget on the decision to dissolve the House of Representatives on 7/10/2021, provided that general parliamentary elections take place in the country on 10/10/2021.
