    • Baghdad - IQ

Former Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi asked, Thursday (April 1, 2021), about funds transferred to the government of his "successor", former Prime Minister Adel Abdul-Mahdi, while he considered that the talk about a new "Farasan Charity" is a call for a civil war.
Al-Abadi said during his participation in the program "The Resolution for You" on the Dijla TV channel, and IQ News News followed him  , that "evil will come if our relationship with neighboring countries does not improve," indicating that "some feared our success and took control of the state with the theory of three zero."
"We want to know where the money that we deported to the government of Abdul Mahdi was spent," he added, asking, "Did it spend these money in beneficial investment projects?"
He pointed out that "the demonstrations are beneficial and must be heard and not confronted with violence," stressing, "We need to investigate to find out who killed the demonstrators and why."
During his reign, which lasted from 2014 until the 2018 elections, Al-Abadi pointed out that "many asked us to use state resources in electoral issues and we refused."
Regarding the issue of killing protesters in 2019, Al-Abadi considered that “the killing of demonstrators was taking place near government centers and under control.” Usually, the demonstrators entered parliament during his reign, “in our era, the prestige of the state did not threaten.”
Al-Abadi pointed out that "the armed factions are not the enemies of Iraq, but they have a point of view," stressing, "We must negotiate with the armed factions to reach a result."
He noted that "Al-Fateh and others possess armed militias, and they were the ones who formed the government of 2018," stressing that "it managed to prevent political parties from having armed wings."
Al-Abadi pointed out that "the talk about a new arrival of knights is calls for a civil war."
