The Minister of Agriculture, Muhammad Al-Khafaji, denied, and found any decision to open import for any material except tomatoes, with a quantity of 50,000 tons, for a period of 20 days only.

Al-Khafaji indicated in a statement to “coordination and communication with the National Security Adviser and the security authorities in this regard, indicating that an emergency session of the Ministerial Council for the Economy will be held next Monday regarding this file, and there is a clear and clear budget clause in Article 21 on preventing the import of agricultural and animal products except after obtaining Fundamentalist approvals, calling on the media and satellite channels, not to listen to the voices that speak about otherwise, and to take news from their official sources, so that the papers are not confused and the citizen is confused.

He added that the laws in force prevent the entry of crops from outside the country, and all concerned parties must not tolerate the entry of crops that are prohibited from import from all border crossings, including the Kurdistan region.

And the Border Ports Authority had indicated in a statement that “According to the directives of Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi and in conjunction with the approaching month of Ramadan, and in order to reduce the burden on citizens, and after a group of vegetables witnessed a rise in prices, Al-Kazemi directed the Ministry of Agriculture to present the issue of excluding some The materials on the Ministerial Council for the Economy next Monday, to allow an exception (tomatoes, eggplant, and cucumbers) from the ban for a limited period and their entry from all border outlets, in order to make an abundance of these materials inside the local markets.

And she indicated that "there is continuous follow-up by the head of the Border Ports Authority to this issue with His Excellency the Minister of Agriculture in order to aid citizens and respond to the demands of importers."
