    {Local: Al Furat News} The Ministry of Transport - the General Company for Iraqi Ports announced that the construction of the oil berth at Khor Al-Zubair port, south of Basra Governorate, will be nearing completion.

    The General Director of the General Company for Iraq Ports Farhan Muhaisen Al-Fartousi said in a statement that the Euphrates News received a copy of it, that "this came according to the directives of the Minister of Transport, Nasser Hussein Bandar Al-Shibli, on the necessity of field follow-up to the management of the Supreme Company for Projects for Iraqi Ports," indicating that "the oil berth at Khor Port Al-Zubair will provide its services to import and export oil products and derivatives on a large scale, and the company is the decision-maker in the mechanism of work and management of the berth operation.
    For his part, Muntadhar Abdul Razzaq Kata, director of the oil berth project at Khor Al-Zubair port, explained that "work continues at the berth at a fairly steady pace, as the completion rate has reached nearly 75%," pointing out that "the most difficult and largest part of the work is the civil construction work. The construction of the pier surface will be completed within a month and a half from now, followed by the electrical and mechanical works, the installation of emergency systems, fire extinguishing and loading arms over the pavement surface, which will be implemented in record time according to the work plans that have been prepared, as it is hoped that the project will be completed during the next August 2021.
