President of the Republic, Barham Salih, issued, on Wednesday, several directives related to security, stressing the need to support the authority of the state and security agencies in enforcing the law and protecting citizens.
A presidential statement, of which Mawazine News received a copy, stated, "Saleh received, today, at Al-Salam Palace in Baghdad, the Chief of Staff of the Army, Lieutenant-General Abdul Amir Yarallah."
He added, "The meeting discussed developments in the security situation in the country, and the ongoing military operations to pursue terrorists in some areas and cities that had been attacked in an attempt to destabilize security and stability, as Lieutenant General Yarallah made a presentation on the current ongoing military operations to pursue the remnants of ISIS."
According to the statement, the President of the Republic affirmed, “the need to support the state’s authority and its security agencies in enforcing the law and protecting citizens, enhancing the capabilities of the security forces in all their formations, with training and arming, in carrying out their tasks and developing their combat capabilities, and joint security coordination in confronting challenges and closing security gaps, and blocking the way for cells’ attempts Terrorism in launching attacks on some villages and regions. ”Ended 29 / A43
