    Governor Muhammad Jaber Al-Atta said in a press statement, "The housing file is one of the things that the Baghdad local government has paid great attention to, especially with the population expansion and the need for more housing units."
    He added that "the population expansion is matched by the continuation of the horizontal rather than the vertical construction that saves the area of ​​the land," noting that "the investment provides a vertical building, but the high prices of its executed units make their acquisition difficult by the low-income group."
    Al-Atta revealed “the governorate’s direction, in coordination with the relevant authorities, to build low-cost residential units for people with limited income, as the governorate has an experience in building this type of number of complexes in a simple area,” indicating that The serviced lands must be prepared for building complexes on them.
    The governor of Baghdad indicated that "there is a specialized committee to change the gender of agricultural lands in the Municipality of Baghdad, which will coordinate with it to amend the gender of lands that have been converted into residential through the construction of random groups on them by citizens," indicating that "legal housing projects will contribute to them."     In the same context, Al-Atta mentioned that “there are 100 thousand plots of land in the Nahrawan area, and 60 thousand other plots in Abu Ghraib district, which are being prepared for distribution among the deserving groups, especially after allocating many of the lands that the department has allocated to”.
