The strategic expert, Dr. Ahmed Al-Sharifi, confirmed that there is a political system crisis in the country, warning of international intervention in Iraq in the event of the continuing crisis between state institutions and armed factions.
In a special statement to PUKmedia, Sharifi said today, Thursday, that the crisis in Baghdad and the Green Zone is the result of past accumulations, and it is not an immediate crisis that can be linked to elections as much as it is a crisis of a political system and a philosophical crisis in the administration of the state and its resources.
He added that we are facing a very dangerous issue, the first is the possibility that there will be a clash between the state institutions and the popular crowd, specifically the factions, and the possibility that the political project will be reconsidered by the international will and this is the most dangerous equation, indicating that the international will looks at the course of events in Iraq and believes that Iraq may return again as a focus for threatening international peace and security, which requires that there be an international response, in addition to the fact that the political track did not rise to convince the parties to the political equation, the international tool that sponsored and supported change in Iraq, and the people as the source of authority.
Sharifi believes that Iraq "faces a very big challenge.
