The Independent High Electoral Commission announced, on Wednesday, that it had updated more than 17 million voter cards, indicating that it had distributed about 70% of the biometric voter cards.
A member of the commission's media team, Muhannad Mustafa, told the official news agency, "The number of updated electoral cards amounted to 17 million and 200 thousand cards, as about 70%, equivalent to 14 million biometric voter cards, were distributed among the citizens who updated their data."
He added that "a simulation was conducted twice for the devices that will be used in the upcoming elections, and today, Wednesday, a third simulation took place," noting that "this simulation was conducted by polling officials who were contracted from state employees, in addition to college and institute graduates and university students."
